Myanmar Prayer Letter (April 2019)

Dear Honored Prayer Partners,

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus! I hope that this letter finds you well. The ministry here is going well. Thank you for your continuous support and unceasing prayer for me and the ministry here in Myanmar. We appreciate you so much.

We would like to share the news that Puite (my wife Mawite’s half-sister) got married on March 25.

The orphanage children enjoy and benefit much from the summer training. They are learning the Bible, music, and languages such as English, Korean, and Mizo.

We recently finished our annual church fellowship gathering (March 27 – 31). Rev. Mark Chen, pastor of Covenant B-PC in Perth, Australia, was our speaker. He taught on the subject of the local church based on 1 Corinthians – specifically, the problems within the local church. He also preached every night at the services. We also had a Bible quiz, Bible memory, and choir competitions. We were all blessed and so encouraged by the meeting.

Please keep these matters in mind as you pray for our mission:

  • Pray for Miss. Cherry Win, one of the teachers at the orphanage home as she was married on March 27. Pray especially for her future. As a new family, it may not be possible to continue working at the orphanage since the church cannot provide family quarters. Pray for her and her husband as they consider beginning a new ministry.
  • Pray for new doors to open to start new church plants. The session has approved Mr. Peka as a new church planter. He is actively working in South Dagon, a suburb area of Yangon, on a new church plant. There is another new door open for church planting in the Shan State. If we can start a new church there, then there will be three churches in the Shan State, and it will be possible to form a new presbytery in the future.
  • Pray for Mr. Peka’s wife, Tluangte, as she will have a surgical operation soon.
  • Pray for the Thinglei BP church in the Chin State. This local church is located in a remote place that it is so difficult to oversee from Yangon. Moreover, they have recently lost their preacher, so we are trying to find a substitute. Please pray for the wisdom to find the right person.

Thank you, all of you, for your partnership with us in the gospel ministry.

Sincerely in His service,

Rev. Khawl Ro Kima
