Project Soli Deo Gloria, Brazil (Leaman)

June 2024

SOLI DEO GLORIA ENGLISH CAMP Thanking God for:
  • Elder Kim Conner, who will be leading the team on PMU’s behalf alongside Pastor Doug Leaman.
  • The enthusiasm and energy of the 2024 team as they are making preparations together.
  • His provision for the team in their fundraising efforts so far. If you’d like to donate to the team you can do so on our website under the “Donate” button.
Please Pray for:
  • The health and safety of the various team members as they travel from various parts of the US and other countries to meet and serve together in Brazil.
  • The pastors who will be preaching in the evenings at the English Camp, that the gospel may be clearly understood.
  • The entire team—for their various projects and camp ministry assignments, for many gospel-oriented conversations to unfold as they interact with students.
  • For the Holy Spirit’s work in the hearts of campers who will be hearing the gospel and called to salvation through faith in Christ.

From the PMU Office (Cincinnati, OH)

June 2024

Due to a setback in Rev. Andy Yong’s immigration process, he cannot currently be employed in the U.S.  And though this had nothing to do with PMU, we are nonetheless unable to employ him at this time.  We are grateful, however, that before his employment status ended, he was able to provide the praises and prayer requests below.  We are prayerful that he will be able to return as a PMU church planter in the near future.

Thanking God for:

  • The continuing work in the Covenant BP Mission amidst the trials of the immigration process.
  • A Mother’s Day event that was joyful and edifying in the Lord.
  • The return of a church member after her 4 months of military training.
  • A church member’s return to work after being away for two years due to injury.

Please Pray for:

  • Pastor Yong’s family and the Covenant BP Mission as Pastor Yong is refiling his Green Card due to a law firm’s error which caused him to resign as a PMU church planter in June.

PMU Field Director (Southerland)

May 2024

Thanking God for:

  • Recent opportunities to offer comfort in Christ to our grieving family after the passing of two of my cousins.  I’m grateful they knew the grace of Christ.
  • The opportunity to preach the Word at Wilson Presbyterian Church and visit with the faithful saints there, and also getting to see our son, Cody and his wife, Maggie.
  • A good result from a recent trip to the emergency room which indicated my heart health was good and the chest pains I was experiencing were only a result of an antibiotic side effect.

Please pray for:

  • The leadership of PMU as we seek to grow and extend the reach of our impact with the gospel around the world.
  • Our financial support needs to be met.
  • Kelly, as her recent lab results indicate a possible recurrence of cancer. Pray for peace as we wait for clear answers.

Myanmar Mission

Please Pray for:

  • Our young people living in fear and confusion regarding the mandatory military service.
  • Protection and safety for those living in areas where the civil war is expanding.
  • The present crisis of more than three years to be resolved soon, that our suffering would cease.
