Sola — Appalachian Christian Retreat, NY (Douma)

April 2021

Thanking God for:
  • Our recent vacation to visit family in the South and Reedy River BPC.
  • Our recent visit to Grand Island BPC to preach at their Holy Week Bible Conference.
  • The gifts He has given our artist, George Kroeker, as he has completed the design of our newest bandana.
  • The first few hikers of the season beginning to arrive at our mission.
  Please Pray for:
  • The Lord to bring the right hikers and volunteers to us.
  • Continued good health for Priscilla and baby due in July.
  • The Lord to work on the hearts of the many new visitors to our church, that they may attend regularly and seek membership.
  • Our newly-started children’s Sunday school class at church.

Thanking God for:

  • The continued support and guidance from the session of Grace BPC in Cincinnati, OH.
  • The safe birth of a child in the congregation, and the joyous celebration that accompanied it.
  • The servants’ hearts and desire to pray among God’s people.
  • Some recent new visitors, for continued relationships to be built with them.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Justice and peace for our community and nation as the trial for former officer Derek Chauvin recently started.
  • The Lord’s blessings on two families as they prepare to move away within the next few months.
  • The Lord’s provision for a regular pianist, as the previous one is moving away soon.
  • Protection in order to honor and worship God, and from every spiritual attack on Christ’s body.

Thanking God for:

  • Kelly’s recent CT scan that showed no visible tumors. 
  • The prospect of more ministry opportunities among our churches and ministries as communities open up. 
  • The PMU staff and others who have been filling in while Pastor Casey was out with his recent gall bladder surgery and COVID infection. 

 

Please Pray for:

  • The effectiveness of the medicine Kelly is taking to address the rise in the cancer markers in her bloodwork. Pray also that she wouldn’t experience side effects from the medication. 
  • Casey as he has recently contracted COVID. 
  • Cody, Lucas and Madison as all three complete various educational benchmarks this Spring.

  • Beautiful weather and the opportunity to get back on the streets.
  • More one-on-one work with leadership and the congregation.
  • Continued harmony among the body.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Our outreach attempts to the community, in a world which is increasingly opening up.
  • Better integration with those who are on the fringes of the church community.

Myanmar Mission

March 2021

Thanking God for:

  • His faithfulness to His people!
  • The blessings that He promises to those who endure.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Protection for our Christian brothers and sisters in Myanmar.
  • The testimony of the church plants in Myanmar and that they will be faithful to the gospel during this trying time.
  • The people of Myanmar—that God would continue to work through the situation there to call His people to repentance and salvation.

Project Soli Deo Gloria, Brazil (Leaman)

Thanking God for:

  • The start of our year long course in Biblical counseling at the local church in Aldeia.
  • The progress that is being made on the physical structure of the land.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Wisdom and grace for the development/construction planned for this year at the Soli Deo Gloria “compound.”
  • This semester’s class on Conflict Resolution at the seminary.
  • Darius and Zayin, as they close out their final year of high school and face a lot of decisions.
  • The church in the North East of Brazil as she faces severe lock-down measures by Governors seeking money from the Federal Government.

Covenant BP Mission, WA (Yong)

Thanking God for:

  • The growth of the congregation into reformed faith.
  • The congregation’s love for each other and the help that they give each other.
  • Sending people to our church from different cities, states, and countries.
  • Monthly Bible study opportunities with a few families.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Settlement of those who have newly relocated to Tacoma into our congregation.
  • Growth for Covenant in spirit and number.
  • Continued opportunities to preach the gospel.
  • My Permanent Resident Card to be granted in 2021.

Reformed BPC, CA (Baldwin)

March 2021

Thanking God for:

  • The good reception of our midweek study through “The Fear Factor” and that our series in 1st Peter is going well, even through these trying times.
  • A church member’s (Coco’s) memorial service and that a number of members of the old church attended.  Several said they wanted to visit again on a Sunday.
  • Dusty’s ability to worship with us a few times, though she is still struggling with lung issues.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Wiwin’s Green Card renewal.  Last year we had an issue and we are waiting for a reply to reopen the matter.  Many things are on hold until this is finished.
  • Our church who has had one family (a trustee) move away and had our loaned elder go home to be with the Lord.  Pray that the Lord would raise up men to serve here.
  • God to send visitors and attract new families to the church once people start feeling comfortable with visiting churches again.

PMU Office (Cincinnati, OH)

December 2020

Thanking God for:

  • Our faithful donors supporting the missions and work of PMU.  –Tom
  • The opportunity to work at PMU throughout the COVID epidemic in 2020.  The office was able to maintain a steady pace while my family was out with the virus over a 3 week span.  Jennifer
  • The privilege of working with our missionaries and seeing their heart for the lost and their desire to glorify God in all they do.  –Lydia

 

Please Pray for:

  • Opportunities for our missionaries to share the gospel as we all face governmental restrictions. –Tom
  • PMU as we seek to honor the Lord with excellence in our daily work and that we will be intentional to encourage, support and love our missionaries as they are sharing the gospel in their various ministries.  –Jennifer
  • God to call more church planters and missionaries to continue to advance the gospel throughout the world. –Lydia
