Project Soli Deo Gloria, Brazil (Leaman)

October 2021

Thanking God for:
  • The start of a new class at the John Calvin Institute in Aldeia in Pastoral Care (Biblical Counseling).
  • The excellent and safe “future men” event held in October.
  • The visit Doug’s parents had to Brazil and for their safe return.
  Please Pray for:
  • The group that the Plainfield Bible Church is sending to help us on the project (safety and blessed trip).
  • The completion of the construction for the Institute at Soli Deo Gloria.
  • The next events for the 2021 calendar (Apologetics conference, Future Men Camp, Tito 2, and the Christian Education event).

Reformed BPC, CA (Baldwin)

Thanking God for:

  • My wife Wiwin’s approval for a 1-year green card extension and that she won’t have to leave the country while we await processing of her new green-card.
  • Our series in 1st John that is going well and that our midweek study through “The Fear Factor” is being enthusiastically received in these trying times.
  • Our new rental home that is working out well for us.  No more mold allergy issues.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Everything to be accomplished in time for Wiwin’s new green card.
  • Wiwin’s efforts to learn to drive and get a license.
  • The health of our church members as many are struggling with chronic health issues.
  • God to send visitors and attract new families to the church once people start feeling comfortable with visiting churches again.

Covenant BP Mission, WA (Yong)

Thanking God for:

  • A few visitors and recent new contacts.
  • An opportunity to preach the gospel and to help a person in need.
  • Positive changes that were brought about through some counseling sessions I had with church members.

 

Please Pray for:

  • The new members to be equipped in the Lord.
  • Salvation of unsaved regular visitors.
  • My immigration petition to be approved soon.

Sola — Appalachian Christian Retreat, NY (Douma)

Thanking God for:

  • Our plumber swiftly replacing our leaking hot water tank.
  • A hiker coming to our church recently.
  • Good health for our family.

 

Please Pray for:

  • New visitors to come to our church events this fall (Appalachian Trail Hike, Fall Festival).
  • A good response to our Fall Sola physical mailing.
  • Doug’s upcoming speech to college students.

Cornerstone Reformed, MN (Liu)

Thanking God for:

  • The continued support and guidance from the session of Grace BPC in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • A good start for the first worship service at a local senior living center in September.
  • The servants’ hearts in the lives of His people.
  • A dependence upon the Lord in prayer in the congregation.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Continued ministry to the residents and staff at the local senior living center; salvation and encouragement to those in their twilight years of life.
  • A renewed heart for the lost, that we would bear witness of the refreshing good news of Jesus Christ.
  • Spiritual growth during a time of testing in the lives of several church families.
  • The Lord to send a spiritual revival to our nation, beginning in Christ’s church.

PMU Field Director (Southerland)

Thanking God for:

  • The marriage of our son, Cody, to our new daughter-in-law, Maggie in Pittsburgh, with Rev. Ben Robinson officiating!
  • The celebration of God’s grace in the life of Casey’s grandfather, Laban Jasper Dorsey, Jr., who passed last week.  His life as a Christian man and display of the fruit of the Spirit have been instrumental in passing faith in Christ and a glad heart to three generations.
  • Our biological family and our family in Christ who have celebrated, encouraged, wept and rejoiced with us as we spent a week traveling to Pittsburgh, PA for the wedding and directly to Rupert, WV for the funeral.
  • The engagement of our daughter Madi to Dylan Francis.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Our family as we work through the waves of grief and gladness over the passing of my grandpa, remembering what an enduring blessing he has been to our lives and faith.
  • Kelly as she begins physical therapy to recover from a surgery that repaired a torn meniscus.
  • My upcoming trips for PMU over the next month.

Foundation BP Mission, OH (Waeber)

September 2021

Thanking God for:

  • My recovery from COVID.
  • Promising opportunities in working with the kids in the schools this year.
  • A blessed time at Synod, spending time with precious brothers of like faith.

 

Please Pray for:

  • Several members of our church who are having a rough time with COVID symptoms.
  • Increased stability and involvement at Foundation as the fall begins.
  • The Lord to open doors in the community for outreach and engagement.

PMU Office (Cincinnati, OH)

August 2021

Thanking God for:

  • The opportunity to have our first in-person Council Meeting since July 2019 and for the service and dedication of the ministers and elders who form PMU’s Governing Council.
  • The approval of Team Timothy ministries in Minnesota (summer 2022) and Brazil (January 2023) and the initiation of labors in Peru.
  • The opportunity to work with Western Reformed Seminary to provide seminary training for pastors and other students in Iquitos, Peru.

 

Please Pray for:

  • The Lord to provide wisdom for the Field Director and PMU Council as they work to develop a new mission field in Peru.
  • God to call people to Team Timothy St. Paul in 2022, to help encourage and minister to Cornerstone Reformed BPC and the Liu family.
  • Team Timothy Brazil in January 2023, that God would provide the team and resources to help the work the Leamans are doing.

Myanmar Mission

July 2021

Thanking God for:

  • Opportunities to share the gospel.
  • A safe visit across the country, and the ability to minister there.
  • The support of our praying brothers and sisters in Christ around the world!

 

Please Pray for:

  • The return of internet access.
  • Myanmar, that the conflict will be resolved peacefully and quickly.
  • God’s protection on His laborers and that they may share the gospel to the people around them in this difficult time.
  • The people of Myanmar, as they are living under poverty and many of them are struggling to receive daily food.
  • The orphanage children, that God will protect them and provide their basic needs.
