PMU Field Director (Southerland)

September 2024

Thanking God for:
  • The opportunity to be part of PMU’s initiative to pursue reaching people and language groups that have never heard the gospel of Christ.
  • His sustaining strength and kindness through a summer that has been packed with many opportunities to serve His Kingdom.
  • Allowing Kelly and Micah to join Casey in Olympia, WA for PMU’s Annual Meeting and the BP Synod.  It was Kelly’s first time meeting many friends from the Pacific Northwest.
Please pray for:
  • Kelly’s radiation treatment to continue to work and ultimately prove effective when we receive results of a scan scheduled for October.
  • Preparations being made and teams being assembled for Team Timothy New York, English Camp in Brazil, and the Internship at SOLA (see website for details).
  • New missionary candidates and church planters to step forward and pursue service to Christ in the Great Commission.

Myanmar Mission

September 2024

Thanking God for:

  • The strength the Lord has provided for the members of the churches as well as the leaders in Myanmar .
  • The relative safety of the Christians we know in the country.
  • The promise of 1 Peter 1:6-7- “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love.  Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith –the salvation of your souls.”

Please Pray for:

  • The end of the military conflict and that it would be followed by peace and justice.
  • The safety of our friends in Myanmar as the conflict has moved into areas of the country that are closer to states and cities where believers we know live.
  • The hope of the gospel as well as humanitarian aid to move throughout the country freely.

Team Timothy

July 2023

Thanking God for:

  • Pastor Brotto and his wife, Ale, who will help the team lead the English Camp in Brazil.
  • A reopening of a direct flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Recife, Brazil. This helped logistically and enabled us to allocate more of the funds raised to ministry projects.
  • The Leamans, Brottos, and others who are already in Brazil making preparations for the ministry.

Please Pray for:

  • Elder Kim Connor who will be giving morning devotions to the campers.
  • Pastors Brotto, Leaman, and Southerland who will be preaching in the evenings at the English Camp.
  • The entire team—for their various projects and camp ministry assignments, for many gospel-oriented conversations, for their health and safe travels.
  • For the Holy Spirit’s work in the hearts of campers who will be hearing the gospel and called to salvation through faith in Christ.
