Team Timothy Applications

TT Brazil 2023 paperwork strip (glow, etc)

Dear Prospective Team Timothy Member,

Team Timothy is PMU’s short-term missions ministry.  It serves as an encouragement and help to our missionaries and their labors as well as an opportunity for team members to foster a heart for missions and consider God’s call on their own lives.  Our team to Brazil will be serving in support of our missionaries, the Leamans.  In particular, we’ll be helping with construction related projects on the Soli Deo Gloria property.  The projects we’ll do will assist the pastoral care and counseling mission of the Soli Deo Gloria Project.  Our labors side-by-side with the Leamans and those they serve will be an in-person investment in their family and their work.

Who should apply for this team?  Team members must have trusted Christ as their Savior and give evidence of a Christian walk in their daily life through ongoing service in their local church.  A desire to serve the Lord and willingness to work together for Christ is also required.  Due to the nature of the work, an ability to do physical labor in a hot climate is also necessary.

You are required to obtain a Pastoral/Session evaluation; you can download the form for this under Application Resources (to the right).  Please ask your Pastor or Session to complete that form and return to the PMU Office via mail or email.

Participation is a privilege and involves certain standards and obligations to be considered as a member.  In the interest of fielding the most spiritually effective team possible, we are asking each applicant to carefully examine his/her own heart for hidden sin, conflict, or disunity with brothers or sisters in Christ, and other impediments to laboring in Christ’s vineyards.  Please take care of these things biblically, before applying.  Important: Your application does not guarantee you will be named to this year’s team.  Final team selection will be made by August 15, 2022.  After we receive a letter from your church session or pastor, and you are approved to the team, you will receive a letter of acceptance and an outline of specific team objectives and assignments.  See the Application To-Do List under Team Timothy Resources at the right.

Team members are responsible to raise their own support from friends, church, and interested sponsors to cover travel, living, and project expenses.  This is a faith venture.  You will gather support, travel, serve others, and earnestly seek to be a witness for Christ, just as our missionaries do. “No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier” (2 Timothy 2:21).

You may fill out this application online (below) or print a copy out and mail it to the PMU Office. The application must be received by August 1, 2022.  Please pay special attention to the below Application To-Do List.  Each step is important.   We are looking forward to a great time of ministry with this team.  If you are named to the team, we will send you a detailed information packet with everything you need to know about your team’s ministry.  God bless you as you seek to serve the LORD.

In our Master’s service,

Rev. Casey S. Southerland

Field Director
