One of the privileges that I have had over these past years in Brazil is to help various training institutions especially with Biblical Counseling. Usually I can come alongside by teaching courses that the particular institution needs. On occasion, however, seminaries have asked for guidance in setting up a biblical counseling training program. Some desire a course for continuing studies – what they call in Portuguese “Pos-graduação” – and others for their standard Bachelors of Theology program which the seminaries offer in Brazil. Recently this happened again with a wonderful online Reformed Bible college for the Portuguese language called FITREF (The International Reformed College). They want help in starting further education for their students in the area of biblical counseling. We are proposing these six basic courses as a course to follow:  Introduction to Biblical Counseling, The Theology of Biblical Counseling, The Practical Components of Counseling and their basis in God’s Word– The I’s, Marriage and Family Counseling, and Particular Problems, How to Proceed, and  Implementing a Biblical vision for Biblical Counseling in Your Local Church.

Pray that these courses will be a blessing to students and their future counselors. Please also continue to pray for Brazil and particularly for the churches’ confidence that God’s Word is the inspired Word of God sufficient to make the man of God complete and equipped and trained for a Holy life before the Lord.
