the Missions Banner, December 2024
Christmas greetings from all of us here at Sola Appalachian Christian Retreat! One of the great benefits of living in New York is the joy of a traditional Christmas with the possibility of a considerable snowfall. I wish you could all see the beauty of our 200-year-old church when it is surrounded by a deep bed of the white stuff. Since we can’t send snow in the mail, we send you our greetings. We pray that in this season as you open presents, fellowship with friends and family, and feast at the table that you find time to meditate upon the life and words of our savior Jesus Christ who was born at Bethlehem. And after you’ve eaten too much Christmas ham, consider going on a hike! It cures many ills. And though the Winter season may be cold, we pray your hearts are warm remembering the words of the angel and a multitude of the heavenly host saying “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.
