Greetings from Adams County, Ohio.
The work here continues slowly and steadily in the same direction. We’ve been blessed to have a fruitful spring, where many families who were long-time attenders decided to put down roots and actually commit to the church plant. In rural places, many people are extremely cautious about new associations, so these decisions have been heartening to me.
Part of our vision from the early days was to be a stable, sane church in the midst of a situation where all the institutions of previous decades are falling apart. The fact that others not only see the value of that prospect but that they actually come and commit to the vision gives me real hope.
This summer, we would love prayer for our core ministries. We’re participating in our presbytery camp in early July, as well as hosting a joint VBS with another local church near the end of July. Please be in prayer that we’ll be able to reach a set of families who we don’t already know with these ministries. One of the great strengths we’ve had thus far has been the number of young families in our church, and we continue to hope that ministering to families with children who want to raise them up in the Lord can be a core part of our presence in the community.
On a personal level, we continue through the process of selling our house and moving closer to the church. Please be in prayer for us through all the disruptions, hardships, and financial difficulties of that process. It’s been hard, as both we and the kids really love our neighbors in Bethel, but we’re excited to see what the Lord is doing in this next stage.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Jason Waeber
