the Missions Banner, June/July 2026
My family and I had the opportunity to travel to Korea. Many people in Korea have faithfully supported and prayed for our mission. During this trip, we have enjoyed meaningful fellowship as I have shared updates on the Lord’s work in the United States.
During my absence, one of our members, Mr. Hyung-Woo Lee, graciously agreed to lead the Adult Sunday School. I have been meeting with him monthly to study essential Reformed doctrines together and to encourage him personally, with the hope that he may one day serve as a leader in our church. I am delighted that he is willing and ready to teach the Sunday School class using the material we have studied together. The Presbytery, at its recent meeting, reaffirmed that the objective of Covenant Mission is to grow into an independent and particular church; accordingly, it appointed two elders – Dr. Allister Stone from Tacoma and Dr. Scott Hollander from Olympia—to join me in forming the Session. They have kindly agreed to fill the pulpit for me while I am away in Korea. My prayer is that, through the good example of these two elders, our congregation will grow in its desire to establish its own leadership and be strengthened to pursue that goal with renewed vision and commitment.
Upon my return, I am preparing for various summer ministries. We are planning a hiking event for the whole church and a retreat for the children. In addition, the Presbytery Teen Camp, PMU annual meeting, and the Synod will be important parts of my summer schedule. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. May God be with you all.
