Rev. Jason Waeber
Adams County, Ohio

The church and the culture have strayed far from anything “ordinary.” We have to call Christ’s people to break away and build communities that aren’t like the world.

Rev. Jason Waeber is a church planter seeking to serve the Lord in Adams County, Ohio. He graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando in 2019, and was a third-generation elder at Grace BPC.  He has a deep burden to see the American church return to faithful, biblical, historical Christianity.  He holds firmly to the inerrancy of Scripture, the virgin birth, sinless life, satisfactory death, and physical resurrection of Jesus Christ, justification by faith alone, and the other doctrines of historic, Reformed orthodoxy as defined in the Westminster Confession of Faith.

All Christian denominations in the US, mainline or evangelical, have thoroughly neglected the rural church.  While large parts of the rural population are still culturally Christian, the healthy churches that serve those people are few and far between.  The ones that do gain traction tend to be cults of personality, based around charismatic speakers, claims of miracles, and an entrenched revivalism.  They have little to no connection to historical, orthodox Christianity.  Adams County, Ohio was a stronghold for the mainline denominations as recently as 1980 when they represented 23% of the population.  As the mainline churches have gone liberal, they have died (now only 2.8%), but healthy evangelical churches have not replaced them.  At Foothills, we want to be part of an attempt to strengthen what remains and plant a new, viable, stable church rooted in biblical Christianity.
