Dear Friends,

Somehow God’s call for us is not salvation only, but He also gives marvelous work for His chosen people to do. Sharing the gospel is part of the work for each believer, especially for those who are called as a minister and leader of the Church. This duty is one of the most significant parts of God’s calling. As a small part of this duty in Cambodia, I am focusing on children’s ministry. Part of me is happy to be able to share the gospel, and another part of me is sad because of the wickedness of the culture and that the people are slow to grow in faith. Cambodia, as a country, has been wide open for the gospel over 50 years, but still there are few Christians. The hearts of the Cambodian people are not yet open to the gospel. Here in the mission field, I realize that the older generation has strongly held on to their customs and old beliefs. This has a great effect on the young generation. I see many children come to church, but only a few of them keep coming and become mature in faith. Most of them remain lost or go back to the old ways of life because of the influence of their parents or grandparents. This is the challenge of preaching the gospel in Cambodia.

However, even though I have this hard time in the ministry life, I am still committed to the Lord and to the work for the kingdom of Christ. I am encouraged by the word of God, which says, “If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord” (Romans 14:8). All of my life I will serve Christ always. Only Christ is my hope and my salvation. Even though the people forsake God and look down on me because I follow Him, I will keep on preaching and teaching the word of God.

Prayer requests:

Please pray for the heart of the Cambodian people to change , especially for the young generation.

Pray for the wisdom and health of Mr. Srong and his wife because they are really working hard for the gospel.

Pray for a safe trip for me because I have to take a long trip from the south to the north for the weekend.

Pray for the stubborn hearts of unbelievers in each village, that God will open their hearts and provide a seed of faith in them.

Pray that the gospel would be valued by the Cambodian people. Not many young people want to study the word of God because they witness the hardships of the pastors in their lives.
