I want to share some news with your for your encouragement and for your prayers.  First, I want you to know that all of our PMU missionaries, church planters and staff have been relatively healthy and no one at the time of this publication has contracted the COVID-19 virus.

• In Brazil, the Leamans were able to continue work on the Soli Deo Gloria property while maintaining social distance and are now in the US for their scheduled furlough.
• In Myanmar, they have been shut down much like we have been in the US.
• Some of our church planters have seen new contacts and families engaging with them even though in-person worship had to be interrupted.
• Our Home Missionaries, Revs. Baldwin and Douma, have been recording messages for their congregations and things have been understandably slow at Sola Christian Retreat but they have had their first hikers of the season.

We have created a bookmark for you to use to keep our missionaries in your thoughts and prayers.  If you would like us to mail you a bookmark, please contact the PMU Office.  Lastly, the office staff is beginning the transition back into the office from a quasi work-from-home operation.

In addition to our PMU missionaries I want you to know of the situation among the saints who hosted our Team Timothy in January of this year.  Since our Team returned from its mission several members from Team Timothy have maintained contact with the brothers and sisters we met in Iquitos.  The brothers and sisters there are industrious in their work for the Lord’s Kingdom.  Their faithful efforts planting churches in Iquitos and in villages along the Amazon and Ucayali rivers is inspiring.  As I’ve mentioned in a previous Banner article, their loving reception of the team seemed to infuse the Lord’s joy amongst us.  It’s these saints in Peru that I’m asking you to remember especially in your prayers.  COVID-19 has been brutal in their city.  A few weeks ago, the hospitals were overwhelmed.  One news report displayed bags of the deceased laying around the floor of the morgue due to the lack of space.  Since that time, two of their pastors and several of their members have come down with the virus.   The virus has devastated the economy as well as their health, but the saints of these churches are doing what they can to help their members as well as the poorest of their city.
